I’ve done it again, y’all. Knocked this one out of the park if I do say so myself. And I do say so. This will be your go-to summer drink. It’s so incredibly refreshing and smooth. Let me introduce you to my Watermelon Basil Moonshine…
Ingredients
Basil Simple Syrup
2 cups Sugar
2 cups Water
Large Handful of Basil
Cocktail Ingredients
1 Small/Medium Watermelon
1/2 Lemon
2 cups Basil Simple Syrup
2 cups Moonshine
Direction
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, water and basil. Stir frequently until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat to low and let basil steep for about 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Strain.
Cut the watermelon in half and scoop out the flesh and put into a blender. Blend until smooth and strain into a large pitcher. Squeeze the lemon juice into the watermelon juice. Add in 2 cups of Basil Simple Syrup and 2 cups of Moonshine. Stir until well combined. Refrigerate until cold. Pour in your favorite glass and enjoy! (can be served over ice as well but is better cold on its own)
