My Spiced Cranberry Moonshine Recipe was such a hit that I’m back with another! My moonshine recipes are definitely worth the wait (not biased or anything!) This moonshine recipe is Caramel Apple Moonshine. To create it, I started with a moonshine base using Junior Johnson’s Midnight Moon Moonshine.
What inspired this moonshine recipe was my love for all things caramel. This recipe just reminds me so much of fall. Who wouldn’t love sipping on fall all year long?! This recipe can be enjoyed cold or warmed up. Either way, it’s delish!

CARAMEL APPLE MOONSHINE RECIPE
Ingredients
2 qts apple juice (I went organic)
2 qts apple cider (hands down, you’ve got to try Musselman’s)
4 cinnamon sticks
8 whole cloves
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
10 caramel candies (unwrapped)
500 ml Junior Johnson Moonshine
250 ml Caramel Vodka
Directions
Combine the apple juice, apple cider, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, light brown sugar, white sugar and caramel candies in a large pot. Bring up to a gentle boil, then reduce to simmer and cover. Simmer for at least 1 hour, longer is okay. Remove from the heat and let it cool to room temperature. Strain out the cinnamon sticks and cloves. Add in the moonshine and caramel vodka, stir to combine. Bottle it up in some mason jars and either chill in the refrigerator or store in a cool place.
Enjoy!!! **Please drink responsibly!**

This reminds me so much of Apple Pie ‘Shine, but I’m speaking of the home-brew (aka illegal) variety. Tee Hee Hee. Since I love apples and caramel, this is right up my alley. By the way, your photos are looking FANTASTIC my dear. 🙂

Hey! I’m so happy I found your blog over at the “Turn it up Tuesday” link up 🙂 Between your Blogging posts (which I just added to one of my list.ly lists, to feature on my blog), and your yummy drink recipes? Score! Lol. This one sounds super yummy! And actually reminds me of something that I do.
I don’t remember the company that makes the moonshine that I buy occasionally, but it’s “Apple Cider Moonshine”.
Normally, this is something you’d do with vodka… But, hey- doing it with moonshine makes it a little more fun 😉 hehe.
I make “Apple Pie Shooters”, using the Apple Cider Moonshine! All you do is grab some shot glasses.. Fill them up 3/4 of the way with apple cider moonshine… Then, top it with some whipped cream! (For an added bonus, drizzle a little Carmel on top ????) talk about Yum!
The original recipe is Vodka, Apple Juice,Whipped Cream, and Carmel (optional).
It’s so yummy, and the whipped cream helps with that strong alcohol taste. ????
I look forward to coming back to your blog very frequently!
Love, Heather Lynn

Hi – wondering if you know mason jars you were able to fill with this recipe??? Thanks!

What affect would doubling the amount of each alcohol have on the flavor?

Made this yesterday, I reduced the sugar to 1 1/3 cups, used salted caramel apple juice and only 2 cinnamon sticks with no cloves. This stuff is awesome! I already have apple pie moonshine and I totally like this caramel version better.

I’d love to make this but I’ve never had store bought moonshine. I’m wondering if the kind I get (made in a still) is stronger. And if I should reduce the amount I put in? It’s the same recipe that my family has made for several generations. What do you think??

I’ve made this several times and have made a few changes that I believe make it much better. The first time I made it I followed the recipe exactly, but I found it to be gritty because pieces of caramel candy don’t dissolve all the way. The second time I strained all the grit out…which defeats the purpose of adding the caramel candy, although it was much smoother. The third time I decided to eliminate the candies altogether and make a simple salted caramel syrup and and added that instead and it turned out perfect! No grit, clear, no straining and the salted caramel flavor was much better than processed candy. All I did was add 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup light brown sugar, 2 tsp salt (optional), 2tsp vanilla extract, half cup water over medium high heat, bring to a boil and let reduce a little, add another cup of water and let reduce. It makes 2 cups, I used one cup for this recipe and put the other in a mason jar for future use. Oh yeah I also added 1.75 ozs of everclear and a full bottle of caramel vodka cause I like it a little stronger.
