One of the most important decisions you’ll make leading up to your big day will be who will stand up with you while you say, “I do”. Here are some tips for choosing your bridal party…
1. Take your time
We know it may be tempting to ask all of your best girlfriends to be in your wedding the moment you get engaged. But once you’ve asked someone to be in your wedding party, you can’t go back. So take your time and give yourself at least a month to think it over.
2. Blood is thicker than water.
Include your siblings. Even if you’re not necessarily close to your brother or sister, they will be around through it all. And chances are, you’ll get closer over the years and regret it later if you decided to leave them off the list.
3. Consider the Size
An average wedding party is 8 people (4 guys and 4 girls). You can have as many or few bridesmaids and groomsmen as your like but keep in mind – more isn’t always merrier. The more people you have in your bridal party the more coordinating you’ll have to do, finding a flattering dress for all may be difficult and more schedules to work around.
4. It’s okay to be uneven
Don’t put pressure on yourself trying to fill in positions. There’s no law of symmetry when it comes to wedding parties so include who you want by your side on your special day!
