ON MY RADAR – SEPTEMBER

I’m starting a new monthly series on the blog where I plan on featuring new finds, things/items I’m curious about, stuff I’ve tried, books I’ve read or books I want to read, etc. I’m calling the series “On My Radar” and I hope it will encourage you to find something new or try something new. I love finding cool stuff – whether it’s for me or for someone else. Keep reading to find out what’s on my radar for September!!

FASHION
How fun is this Boyfriend Trucker Jacket from Levi’s?? You better believe I just bought it. I cannot wait to style it and wear it this winter. I have a soft spot for jackets and coats. Anyone else??

I also just grabbed a couple of plaid shirts to add to my fall wardrobe collection. This one is a washed navy plaid shirt from Frank & Eileen and this one is a bonfire/ash plaid shirt from RAILS

BOOKS
I recently finished reading The Life List by Lori Nelson Spielman. I devoured it in 2 days. Right after that book, I was scrolling through my Kindle trying to figure out what was going to be next. I found a book called Taste for Trouble by Susan Sey. It was another one I read in just a few days. And that I couldn’t put down. It happens to be a series and I went right to Amazon and bought the 2nd book, Talent for Trouble. And while I read it pretty quickly too, it wasn’t as good as the 1st book and now I don’t want to read the 3rd book.

So next on my TBR list is the new Sue Grafton Alphabet Series book, Y is for Yesterday. I cannot believe there is only 1 more book in this series. If you haven’t read her Alphabet Series, it’s definite must.

The other book on my radar, and it’s one I missed when it first came out, is the new Janet Evanovich book: Dangerous Minds (A Knight & Moon Novel). I have always been an Evanovich fan. Started with The Stephanie Plum Number Series. But she’s co-authored and solo-authored many other books outside of that series and I believe I read nearly them all. The Knight & Moon Series is fairly new. This is the 2nd book in the series and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes.

BEAUTY
Just purchased Soap & Glory’s Thick & Fast Super Volume Mascara and holy wow – I’m loving it!! I’m excited to try out some more of their products. This one was a “I think I’ll test drive this mascara” kind of purchase. 🙂

HOME
LOVING this Fall Themed Mug on Etsy! I’m currently in the process of planning a Friendsgiving with some of my wedding vendor friends (aka friendors) and I think these clay pumpkins on Etsy are perfect for the place settings!

BIZ LIFE
Y’all know I’m a creative entrepreneur and I’m constantly hustling to get my side businesses to a place that allows me to just focus on them rather than my day job. I am not a morning person and have never been one. It is super hard for me to wake up early. But when I do, I feel like I accomplish so much. I’m wanting to add this book to my TBR in hopes that it will encourage me to work on getting up earlier. Have you read What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast by Laura Vanderkam?

BLOGGING
The FTC has spoken again. And if you consider yourself an online influencer, you NEED to take notice right now. This is one of my soap box platforms – the entire notion of disclosure. They’ve now officially fined 2 online influencers who are not celebrities. I’ve been saying that it will only take 1 person to set the standard – and y’all it happened. WEDDINGS & EVENTS
I just participated in the Fall Open House at Brik Venue in Fort Worth. I was able to style a lounge and the ceremony space. It turned out amazing!! I cannot wait to blog about it!! But until I do, I’m digging some of the fall wedding trends – especially the fall wedding fashion I’m seeing.
