Here are my answers…
1) What are you currently reading? Tell us about it.
I just started reading our June Read for the Literary Junkies Book Club…The Silver Linings Playbook. I’m liking it so far.
Goodreads.com Synopsis:
Meet Pat. Pat has a theory: his life is a movie produced by God. And his God-given mission is to become physically fit and emotionally literate, whereupon God will ensure a happy ending for him — the return of his estranged wife Nikki. (It might not come as a surprise to learn that Pat has spent time in a mental health facility.) The problem is, Pat’s now home, and everything feels off. No one will talk to him about Nikki; his beloved Philadelphia Eagles keep losing; he’s being pursued by the deeply odd Tiffany; his new therapist seems to recommend adultery as a form of theraphy. Plus, he’s being hunted by Kenny G!
In this enchanting novel, Matthew Quick takes us inside Pat’s mind, showing us the world from his distorted yet endearing perspective. As the award-winning novelist Justin Cronin put it: “Tender, soulful, hilarious, and true, The Silver Linings Playbook is a wonderful debut.”
2) Summer is just ahead and my fav thing to fantasize is laying in a hammock with a good book. What are your top 3 fav “summer” reads?
I don’t typically re-read books each summer, but I have to say a few of my favorites reads from past summers are:
1. A Hopeless Romantic by Harriet Evans
2. In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner
3. The Fixer Upper by Mary Kay Andrews
3) What are your top 3 summer “to-reads”?
3 books that I don’t own yet, but am so looking forward to reading are:
1. Ladies’ Night by Mary Kay Andrews
2. Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella
3. The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein (July’s Literary Junkies Book Club Read)
4) What book do you wish they’d make into a movie?
I’ve never been fond of books turned movies. I’ve never been truly happy with the outcome. Although, reading through the books I’ve read in the past and seeing The Devil Wears Prada in my list, that was one movie did not disappoint. But I think Meryl Streep nailed that movie. The Notebook wasn’t a bad rendition either. Hello Ryan Gosling. 😉
I would love to see one of Mary Kay Andrew’s books turned into a movie…but only if she can have creative direction with it. 🙂
5) Has your favorite author published a book lately or going to publish a book soon? Tell us about it.
Yes!! Sophie Kinsella and Mary Kay Andrews both have books that just released and I can’t wait to read them…both listed in my Top 3 Summer Reads list mentioned up above.
What are you currently reading? Do you have any book recommendations for me?

I’m the same way with books turned movie…i’m usually not a fan. Devil Wears Prada is a great exception. I also enjoyed Water for Elephants, but still liked the book better.
