1. What are you currently reading? Tell us about it!
I just started The Jane Austen Marriage Manual by Kim Izzo.
Goodreads.com Synopsis: Katherine Shaw—Kate— is happy with her life. She has supportive friends, a glamorous magazine career, and a love of all things Jane Austen. But when she loses her job, her beloved grandmother falls ill and a financial disaster forces a sale on the family home, Kate finds herself facing a crisis that would test even the most stalwart of Austen heroines.
Friends rally round, connecting her to freelance gigs, and presenting her with a birthday gift— title to land in Scotland—that’s about to come in very handy. Turns out that Kate’s first freelance assignment is to test an Austen-inspired theory: in the toughest economic times is a wealthy man the only must-have accessory? What begins as an article turns into an opportunity as Kate—now Lady Kate—jet-sets to Palm Beach, St Moritz and London where, in keeping company with the elite, she meets prospects who make Mr. Darcy look like an amateur. But will rubbing shoulders with men of good fortune ever actually lead her to love? And will Kate be able to choose between Mr. Rich and Mr. Right?
2. What is one book you think every person should read at least once in their life? Why?
MWF Seeking BFF: My Yearlong Search For A New Best Friend by Rachel Bertsche
I’ve chosen this book as the book I think every adult female should read. It’s humorous to “watch” how Rachel writes about her journey seeking a BFF as a Married White Female (MWF). It also hits close to home. I’ve found as an adult (and outside of the blogging world) that it is much harder to connect with women and find/make friends. Especially if you are the new girl. This is a fabulous read!
3. Do you think you could ever write a book? If so what genre would it be?
I’m going to say that as of this moment, I do not have any desire to write a novel. I do have the desire to write quick e-books, but not an actual fictional story. 🙂
4. Do you listen to audiobooks? Do you look for the same things in an audiobook that you do in one you’ll read?
I do listen to audiobooks. Having a commute to work and home twice a week, 3 hours a jaunt, makes for lots of free time. I’ve listened to a few books on tape, but lately haven’t found any that I’ve gotten in to. And I honestly think it’s due to the actual reader of the story. Their voices aren’t compelling enough for me to stay with the story.
5. Can you suggest a book of each type for others to try:
Fantasy – No suggestion
Nonfiction – See question #2
Fiction – Just finished The Perfume Collector by Kathleen Tessaro. Loved it!
Romance – Love anything by Rachel Gibson
Classics – The Great Gatsby
Young Adult – Anything by Meg Cabot
Now it’s your turn to link up!! 🙂
Now, before you do…Do you think you could ever write a book?

The Jane Austen Marriage Manual is definitely going on my TBR list! I don’t know how I haven’t heard of it before. Thank you for the suggestions! 🙂

Hmm…maybe I’ll keep that in mind and try borrowing some audiobooks from the library. Maybe the reason I fall asleep is the narrators voice. LOL!
The Great Gatsby – Great pick for classic! I couldn’t decide on mine since I read several for high school.

I love the blog MWF seeking BFF but hadn’t been sure about ordering the book. You just made my decision for me!

I’m very excited about your suggestion of MWF seeking BFF! I’m spending the next 2 years moving 4 times for my husband’s job, and with no friends around and no school or work in which to meet them, things are kind of tough. This boks sounds just like something I need!
Melissa@Home on Deranged says
Never get tired of this linkup. Love anything inspired by Jane Austen, and completely intrigued by the MWF seeking BFF. It really does seem to get harder to make friends as you get older, and that’s when you seem to need them even more. Thanks for the suggestions!

I have such a hard time reading romance, I don’t know why. I want to read them but I loose interest quickly. I agree with you that it’s harder to make friends these days. It even worst when you have a medical condition. I’ve lost friend because I got sick which I still don’t understand. I’m going to put that book on my to do list for sure.

Audiobooks are definitely the best thing for commuting and road trips! And I’ve heard a lot of good things about MWF Seeking BFF – guess I should add it to my list!
