Here are this month’s questions…
1. What are you reading right now? Tell us about it.
2. There are a ton of movies coming out soon that were based off of books. Are there any you’re particularly excited to see?
3. With fall finally here for some of us, are there any books that you’re particularly looking forward to reading in the season of big sweaters, blankets and hot chocolate?
4. We only have 3.5 months left of 2014. Did you participate in any reading challenges? How are you doing?
5. What has been the best book you’ve read so far this year?
Here are my answers…
1. What are you reading right now? Tell us about it.
You know the Saybrooks. Everyone does. Perhaps you’ve read a profile of them in People or have seen their pictures in the society pages of Vogue. Perhaps while walking along that choice block on Fifth Avenue, you’ve been tempted to enter the ornate limestone building with their family name etched into the pediment above the door.
The only thing more flawless than a Saybrook’s diamond solitaire is the family behind the jewelry empire. Beauties, entrepreneurs, debutantes, and style mavens, they are the epitome of New York City’s high society. But being a Saybrook comes at a price—they are heirs not only to a dizzying fortune but also to a decades-old family curse.
Tragedy strikes the prominent family yet again when thirty-four-year-old Poppy, the most exquisite Saybrook of them all, flings herself from the window of her TriBeCa office. Everyone is shocked that a woman who had it all would end her own life. Then her cousins receive an ominous threat: one heiress down, four to go.
Was it suicide… or murder? In the aftermath of the tragedy, the remaining heiresses—Corinne, the perfectionist; Rowan, the workaholic; Aster, the hedonist; and Natasha, the enigma—wrestle with feelings of sadness, guilt, and, most of all, fear. Now they must uncover the truth about their family before they lose the only thing money can’t buy: their lives.
2. There are a ton of movies coming out soon that were based off of books. Are there any you’re particularly excited to see?
Although I haven’t read the book yet, Matthew Tropper’s “This is Where I Leave You” is a movie that I am certainly looking forward to. Jason Bateman, Tina Fey and Jane Fonda. Yes please.
3. With fall finally here for some of us, are there any books that you’re particularly looking forward to reading in the season of big sweaters, blankets and hot chocolate?
Oh man, my reading list is a mile long. And I really want to re-read The Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. I think I’ve read 4 or 5 books way back in the day…I think like 2004-2005ish. And now with Starz creating a series, it’s really made me want jump back into her books.
4. We only have 3.5 months left of 2014. Did you participate in any reading challenges? How are you doing?
I didn’t participate in any reading challenges. But I did challenge myself to read 45 books. I’ve read 29 according to Goodreads but I have a feeling I have left some books off or didn’t get dates put into books I’ve read. I’ve noticed that when I update a book as read on my phone it won’t record the book properly and give me credit. Shame on you Goodreads. 😉
5. What has been the best book you’ve read so far this year?
I have to go back into my Bookshelf Archives to figure this one out. Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen was a really great read.
How would you answer these questions??

Oh, gee! The Heiresses sounds good, too! 😉 Thanks for hosting this fun party! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
The Heiresses sounds really good. This Is Where I Leave you looks good too! Love Jason Bateman!

I read the first Outlander and wasn’t a huge fan. I might try the second, to see if I like it better- but I was disappointed that it was mainly a romance novel. I wanted more time travel action. 🙂
So sad I missed the link up. Oh well. I still love answering the questions.
