Pineapples, Pink Foil, and Pink, Oh My! These are a few of my favorite things this summer. I’ve been slightly obsessed with pineapples and flamingos the past couple years as I feel they are the perfect summer decor item. A couple years ago I discovered how easy it can be to gold foil and pink foil items with Toner Reactive Foil; so I decided to put these two obsessions together for the ultimate summer print.
For this DIY Pink Foiled Pineapple Print project you need the following items:
- Picture to Foil
- Cardstock
- Laser Printer
- Toner Reactive Foil
- Heat Source (more on this later)
First, print the picture onto cardstock using a laser printer (this will only work if you use a laser printer).
Cut the Toner Reactive Foil and place it over the image
Now is where things get a little different based on your heat source. The simplest method is to use the Minc machine; however, if you don’t want to spend money on the machine you can use your laser printer to adhere the foil. I have a tutorial on how to do that here.
Since the paper is going to be 8.5×11 and frames are 8×10, trim the image to 8×10 size then place it in a frame and enjoy!
I absolutely love how this pineapple turned out, and the quote about how to be a pineapple is a great reminder throughout the summer as you enjoy the print in your decor.
