Save the Date by Mary Kay Andrews
Goodreads.com Synopsis:
A wedding florist finds love and trouble in this delightful new novel by the New York Times bestselling author of Ladies’ Night.
A Savannah florist is about to score the wedding of a lifetime—one that will solidify her career as the go-to-girl for society nuptials. Ironically, Cara Kryzik doesn’t believe in love, even though she creates beautiful flower arrangements to celebrate them. But when the bride goes missing and the wedding is in jeopardy, Cara must find the bride and figure out what she believes in. Maybe love really does exist outside of fairy tales after all.
My Review: 5 out of 5 stars. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Mary Kay Andrews hits this one out of the park. The story is charming, witty and full of fun. I love Cara’s spunk! And I love that she’s in the floral business. The entire story kept me entertained and guessing what was going to happen next. A read I highly recommend!! And I want her Goldendoodle, Poppy. Oh and the location of her flower shop!
In June, I had the opportunity to attend a Mary Kay Andrews book signing for Save the Date. OMG…I was nervous and excited all at once. I’ve been a huge fan of Mary Kay Andrews since picking up her The Fixer Upper years ago. I’ve read all of her books under her Mary Kay Andrews name and even started on her previous books under the Kathy Hogan Trocheck name (which are now being re-released under Mary Kay Andrews).
Mary Kay started the evening off talking about the book, Save the Date. She has such a great personality. Like now that I’ve heard her speak, I can totally “hear” her in her books. We had a chance to ask her questions, which I totally did. My question was “As a blogger, I have a blog tribe. People that are like-minded and have similar goals, etc. I want to know if you have a ‘tribe’.” She said she did have a group of writer friends whom she goes on retreat with every year. Maybe my blog tribe should go on retreat every year. 😉 Ladies???
I stayed till the very end and was the last customer to leave. I had the opportunity to witness the bookstore’s Author “ceremonies” which entailed Mary Kay leaving her handprint as artwork for their author wall. I really really really wanted to take her out for drinks…but thought she might think I was being stalker-ish. But really I’m just a nosey/curious blogger. 😉 LOL
Now for a surprise! Mary Kay Andrews is offering a copy of Save the Date for one of my readers!!!! WOOO!!!!!
