For the last couple of months or so, I’ve been waking up and making green smoothies for myself and my hubs. One of our friends really encouraged us both to start drinking smoothies made from fresh veggies and fruit and even went as far as to bring us a smoothie for breakfast for a week straight. We were both hooked. We felt better. Our digestive health was better. Just lots of really great benefits from drinking these green smoothies. Today, I’m sharing my version of our green smoothie. Sometimes it varies, depending on what I have on hand or what I’ve run out of already, but for the most part, this is the exact smoothie we drink daily. We both drink 32 oz. each of this smoothie. It consistently makes over 64 oz so there’s typically a small smoothie that one of us can drink later in the day.
Ingredients
1 cup Almond Milk, plain
1-2 big handful(s) of greens (I use Power Greens from Central Market…combo of Kale and Spinach)
1 handful of almonds
1 handful of pecans
1 Tablespoon of Hemp Hearts
1 Tablespoon of Vanilla Hemp Protein Powder
6-8 Strawberries
2 Carrots
1/2 pineapple, cored
1 handful of blueberries
1 peach
1 apple
1 banana
squirt of honey
1 cup Ice
Directions
Layer all of the ingredients as I listed them above in a high-powered blender like a VitaMix or a Blendtec blender. I’m not sure how a regular blender will fair to chop and puree all of those ingredients. Blend well. Enjoy!

Thank you for sharing this with us at the Family Joy Linkup! My husband and I have tried a Paleo version diet, but have never tried green smoothies. Is this sweet to the taste?

I think that’s one thing that’s been keeping me from trying green smoothies—thinking they will taste not so good. Good to know this one doesn’t.
