We also have an online book club where we meet the third Tuesday of every month on Twitter to chat about our book of the month. Participants can even win some great prizes!

This month’s questions:
1) What are you currently reading? Tell us about it!
2) How many books have you read this year? Do you set reading goals for yourself?
3) What do you think are the best and worst book-to-movie/TV show adaptations?
4) What is the first line of your favorite book?
5) What’s your favorite quote from a book?
Here are my answers:
1. What are you currently reading? Tell us about it!
The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult
Goodreads.com Synopsis:
Sage Singer befriends an old man who’s particularly beloved in her community. Josef Weber is everyone’s favorite retired teacher and Little League coach. They strike up a friendship at the bakery where Sage works. One day he asks Sage for a favor: to kill him. Shocked, Sage refuses…and then he confesses his darkest secret – he deserves to die, because he was a Nazi SS guard. Complicating the matter? Sage’s grandmother is a Holocaust survivor.
What do you do when evil lives next door? Can someone who’s committed a truly heinous act ever atone for it with subsequent good behavior? Should you offer forgiveness to someone if you aren’t the party who was wronged? And most of all – if Sage even considers his request – is it murder, or justice?
My Review: I’m trying to hurry up and finish this book because it’s what we are discussing at our Literary Junkies twitter party chat tonight!! I have to say that I’m loving every moment of it so far.
2) How many books have you read this year? Do you set reading goals for yourself?
I’ve read 44 books so far this year. This is the 2nd year that I’ve set a goal for myself. This year’s goal was 35 books. So yay for beating my goal!! Last year I was a bit overzealous in setting a goal so this year I went a little lower to at least give myself a chance. 🙂
3) What do you think are the best and worst book-to-movie/TV show adaptations?
Finding the best is super hard because I just don’t ever think the movie versions come anywhere close. The worst: Confessions of a Shopholic comes to my brain first. It was awful compared to the story. I felt like they totally didn’t give you even a hint at who Rebecca Bloomwood was in the book.
4) What is the first line of your favorite book?
“In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I’ve been turning over in my mind ever since.” The Great Gatsby
5) What’s your favorite quote from a book?
I’m not very good at remembering quotes let alone from books that I’ve read. So I’m going to have to say I have no clue on this one.
Now it’s your turn to link up with us!!
I love Jodi Picoult books, but haven’t gotten around to reading that one yet. Her books always make you think about things differently.
Good morning! I have a new goal to read more books! Thanks for the fun party! ‘Just got your button posted! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
So happy to link up for the first time! I’ve read so much less than last year, because I spend so much time reading blogs! Can I count those as books too?
I absolutely loved The Storyteller! Can’t wait to hear what you think of the ending.
I’m a new follower and can’t wait to join in this link up with you! I love Jodi Picoult, although I haven’t read one of hers for a while. Yay for beating your reading goal!
Weirdly, I thought the “Confessions of a Shopaholic” movie was better than the book! Maybe because I saw the movie before I read the book?
Phew! Just made it. Thanks so much for hosting. I love this catch up of bookish things every month even though I never manage to actually get on the book club twitter party! I really must try a Jodi Picoult one of these days. I have this strange aversion to her books which I am unable to explain. I’ll probably end up loving them! Thanks again xxx
I missed this time, but I will bookmark this to participate next time
Thank you
