MY ANSWERS:
1. What are you reading? Tell us about it?
I just finished reading the Literary Junkies June Book (chatting about it tonight on Twitter!!) Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walters. I’m about to dive into That Night by Chevy Stevens and Destruction by Sharon Bayliss
Goodreads.com Synopsis:
As a teenager, Toni Murphy had a life full of typical adolescent
complications: a boyfriend she adored, a younger sister she couldn’t relate to, a strained relationship with her parents, and classmates who seemed hell-bent on making her life miserable. Things weren’t easy, but Toni could never have predicted how horrific they would become until her younger sister was brutally murdered one summer night.
Toni and her boyfriend, Ryan, were convicted of the murder and sent to prison.
Now thirty-four, Toni is out on parole and back in her hometown, struggling to adjust to a new life on the outside. Prison changed her, hardened her, and she’s doing everything in her power to avoid violating her parole and going back. This means having absolutely no contact with Ryan, avoiding fellow parolees looking to pick fights, and steering clear of trouble in all its forms. But nothing is making that easy—not Ryan, who is convinced he can figure out the truth; not her mother, who doubts Toni’s innocence; and certainly not the group of women who made Toni’s life hell in high school and may have darker secrets than anyone realizes. No matter how hard she tries, ignoring her old life to start a new one is impossible. Before Toni can truly move on, she must risk everything to find out what really happened that night.
But the truth might be the most terrifying thing of all.
Goodreads.com Synopsis:
David Vandergraff wants to be a good man. He goes to church every Sunday, keeps his lawn trim and green, and loves his wife and kids more than anything. Unfortunately, being a dark wizard isn’t a choice.
Eleven years ago, David’s secret second family went missing. When his two lost children are finally found, he learns they suffered years of unthinkable abuse. Ready to make things right, David brings the kids home even though it could mean losing the wife he can’t imagine living without.
Keeping his life together becomes harder when the new children claim to be dark wizards. David believes they use this fantasy to cope with their trauma. Until, David’s wife admits a secret of her own—she is a dark wizard too, as is David, and all of their children.
Now, David must parent two hurting children from a dark world he doesn’t understand and keep his family from falling apart. All while dealing with the realization that everyone he loves, including himself, may be evil.
2. Library or bookstore?
I love both! I love checking books out at the library. I love buy used books at a used bookstore. I love hanging out in a bookstore. I just love all things relating to books!
3. What book(s) have you read and re-read several times?
I’ve re-read The Great Gatsby a number of times. I have intentions of re-reading several of my favorite author’s books, however my to-read list is a mile long so unless I take a year off of everything (not likely), it’ll probably be awhile before I re-read them.
4. What is the first book that made you fall in love with reading?
Nancy Drew for sure. However, I’ve been reading since I could read. Nancy Drew is just what I remember getting hooked on at around age 7 or 8.
5. Who’s your favorite author? Tell us so we can binge-read!
I don’t have just one! 😉
Mary Kay Andrews (who I hope to meet this week in Houston!)
Jennifer Crusie
Sue Grafton
Janet Evanovich

Taylor the July book selection, The Secret Keeper, sound right up my alley. To be apart do I just read it on my own and come back on the third Tuesday of July? This is a really great idea!
