The Christmas holiday is one of my absolute favorite times of the year. It’s like from the end of Thanksgiving till December 25th, it’s all about food, family, decorations and holiday cheer. Ohh and all the Christmas movies you can imagine on the Hallmark channel. 😉 Decorating is one of my favorite parts, well besides the cooking and baking. 😉 My hubs and I are currently living in one of our duplex’s and the space…well, let’s just say when we downsized after I went on the road full time, we squeezed 6 years of living in a 4 bedroom into a 2 bedroom and with our furniture and antiques, my Christmas tree has to stay in the box. Whomp whomp. Usually I get my tree up the day after Thanksgiving and leave it up well into the New Year (it’s hard work, yo…I want to enjoy all of it’s prettiness…ha!). These last few years, I’ve had to get by with decorating my dining room table. Before I get to the rest of my pictures…I wanted to share with you my Top Ten Holiday Traditions…drum roll please…….
TEN: Drinking Eggnog
NINE: Enjoying Warm Fires
EIGHT: Watching Christmas Movies
SEVEN: Baking with Friends and Family
SIX: Sipping on Hot Chocolate
FIVE: Getting a new set of Holiday PJs
FOUR: Driving around to see the Christmas Lights
THREE: Christmas Dinner
TWO: Enjoying time with my family
ONE: Celebrating the real reason for the season!!
And now…let’s look at my pretty dining table decor!!! Look how pretty it turned out!!!
I shopped at my local Sears but I’m so jealous at some of the Christmas decor I’m seeing online at Kmart!
I went with soft blues, whites and silvers for my theme. Each year it’s different. My tree in the past has been hot pinks and blacks and silvers. Are you surprised?? lol Didn’t think so. Anyways, this year…the blues were calling my name. I went shopping at Sears and came home with lots of fun goodies. A table garland, fake snow, glittery beads, strings of pretty beads and lots of shiny garland. Ohh and my little reindeer too!
I can’t wait until I can actually set the table and serve a holiday meal. I have my mom’s china and it’s rimmed in silver. I think it’ll be the perfect compliment to my holiday decor.
Kmart and Sears recently conducted a survey and found that 41 percent of Americans defined their signature design as “classic,” followed by “colorful” (37 percent) and “vintage” (12 percent). Where do you fit in??
