June is 1st birthday parties galore for me! I was thinking of something fun that I could add into a 1st birthday gift basket and came up with this adorable painted flamingo onesie.
Easy DIY Painted Flamingo Onesie
Materials:
- Freezer Paper
- Print out of Flamingo Outline
- Onesie
- Spray Fabric Paint (I used Neon Pink)
Start out by tracing a flamingo outline onto freezer paper and cutting it out. Place the freezer paper stencil onto the onesie and iron with medium heat for about 10 seconds. Make sure to have the shiny side towards the fabric.
The fabric paint can bleed through the fabric, so place a piece of cardstock or cardboard between the layers. I happened to have a Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupon sitting on my island that worked perfectly.
Make sure that all the fabric outside the stencil is covered because the spray will go pretty far. I didn’t quite get everything covered and then got to spend some time trying to get paint out of the fabric before it completely dried (Shout spot remover did get it out for the most part).
I only needed one coat so I peeled the stencil off the onesie after about 5 minutes and then let the onesie dry the rest of the way.
This onesie turned out absolutely adorable and will be so much fun to add with some other flamingo and pink items. What sort of onesie would you make for a 1st birthday?
