I’ve been working on a few craft projects for my bestie’s baby shower (in July). Her theme is Nautical and colors are teal greens and coral. I thought it’d be fun to have pops of color on the utensils used for the food at her party. So I brought out the craft paint! This project is SUPER easy!
Craft Paint Dipped Utensils
Here’s what you need:
// Craft paint (I’m using craft paint with glitter in it..well, the coral doesn’t have glitter in it, so I’ve got iridescent/clear glitter to add on top once the coral color dries)
// Paint brushes
// Something to store the utensils upright or sideways while drying
// Paper towels to clean up your mess 😉
// Utensils of your choosing
Here’s what you do:
// Dip the end of the utensil in the paint
// Let the extra paint drip off
// Let dry
// Repeat if necessary
// Use a paintbrush to add more paint if needed
Note: what’s nice about metal utensils is that if the paint runs, let it dry and then just scratch it off
I plan on dipping the plastic utensils as well to add a pop of color. I wouldn’t recommend putting these through a dishwasher as this is just for decoration and one time use only kind of deal. 😉
Those are so cute!
What a fun addition to boring utensils!
What a fun idea for a summer BBQ!
This is such a cute idea! How fun & I just might have to do this for our BBQ this weekend. I’d love to find a set of silverware at a thrift store or something to try this out on 🙂
I have TONS of paint from when my Grandma passed away. We need to use it up! This is such a fun idea! Even if you just did cheap dollar store utensils or plastic-ware for a holiday party (or baby shower like you haha). Whoa buddy! Endless options here!
What a cute and easy idea! Once again, I have to say how much I love the versatility of your blog. Thanks for the ideas!!
This is a really cute idea! Now.. say we wanted something permanent.. how would we go about that? Ha ha!
