During the summer, we spend a lot of evenings outside and I’ve loved having little lights out there with us in previous summers. One day I was browsing through JoAnns and discovered that they carried Mason jar accessories! I purchased these wire handles and knew that they would be perfect to create some little hanging lights.
This hanging mason jar decor seriously took 30 seconds to put together, I’m all about easy decor and crafts!? The wire simply wraps around the mouth of the jar and then just locks into itself. I saw that they had both wide and normal mouth handles so these could easily be made with larger quart sized jars as well.
For this jar, I filled it with some crinkle paper and a battery operated tealight (these are seriously amazing, they are timed so you don’t have to turn them on and off). I have a few of these garden shepherd hooks that I need to pull out of storage so that I can hang more of these jars up around the yard.
In addition to simple backyard decor, these hanging mason jars could be used for weddings or parties. In addition to the crinkle paper, there are lots of other ways that these jars could be decorated.
