I’ve been on a kick lately on homemade beauty products. I recently tried this DIY Strawberry Hair Mask that I shared with you last week…so divine! Albeit somewhat messy. LOL But it takes work to pamper yourself sometimes. 😉 I even mixed together a DIY Split End Treatment that had my ends feeling silky smooth! I’m excited to share with you another fun creation! And if you aren’t into Citrus smell, simply add your favorite essential oil to the mix instead! Now on to the DIY Green Tea & Citrus Body Butter recipe.
Ingredients
1 1/2 Tbsp. Cocoa Butter
1 1/2 Tbsp. Shea Butter
1 tsp. Beeswax Pellets
1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1 tsp. Vitamin E Oil
2 tsp. green tea, steeped
2-3 drops of Citrus Essential Oil (or substitute your favorite EO…you could try jasmin, lavender, mint or sweet orange)
Small Jar for storage, clean and dry
Directions
In a double boiler, melt the cocoa butter, shea butter and beaswax. Once melted, add in the olive oil, steeped green tea, vitamin e oil and citrus essential oil. Pour into storage container and allow it to set. Enjoy moisturized skin!!
I chose green tea because of all of the health benefits. If you haven’t heard of the benefits, check them out here!
Have you ever made your own body butter before?? You could turn this into a whipped version by cooling it all the way down and then whipping for about 8 minutes.
