Yay! It’s Literary Junkies day! This is the day where we can all dedicate our blog posts just to good books! Every month, we pick a new co-host to help us come with with new link-up questions for participants to answer. Write a blog post answering these questions (see below) and link up so we can all go read it!
This month’s link-up questions:
1) What are you currently reading? Tell us a bit about it!
2) What are your five most recent book purchases?
3) Have you ever named/nicknamed anything (person, pet or thing) after a character? Who and why?
4) If you could live in one book, all of its characters and in the town, which would it be?
5) Can you think of a book you read that taught you something concrete that you’ve never forgotten? Tell us about it.
Here are my answers:
1) What are you currently reading? Tell us a bit about it!
Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani
Goodreads.com Synopsis:
Meet the Roncalli and Angelini families, a vibrant cast of colorful characters who navigate tricky family dynamics with hilarity and brio, from magical Manhattan to the picturesque hills of bella Italia. Very Valentine is the first novel in a trilogy and is sure to be the new favorite of Trigiani’s millions of fans around the world.
In this luscious, contemporary family saga, the Angelini Shoe Company, makers of exquisite wedding shoes since 1903, is one of the last family-owned businesses in Greenwich Village. The company is on the verge of financial collapse. It falls to thirty-three-year-old Valentine Roncalli, the talented and determined apprentice to her grandmother, the master artisan Teodora Angelini, to bring the family’s old-world craftsmanship into the twenty-first century and save the company from ruin.
While juggling a budding romance with dashing chef Roman Falconi, her duty to her family, and a design challenge presented by a prestigious department store, Valentine returns to Italy with her grandmother to learn new techniques and seek one-of-a-kind materials for building a pair of glorious shoes to beat their rivals. There, in Tuscany, Naples, and on the Isle of Capri, a family secret is revealed as Valentine discovers her artistic voice and much more, turning her life and the family business upside down in ways she never expected. Very Valentine is a sumptuous treat, a journey of dreams fulfilled, a celebration of love and loss filled with Trigiani’s trademark heart and humor.
My Thoughts: I’m actually listening to this as an audiobook. I have thoroughly enjoyed the story thus far. The narrator is a good one. 🙂
2) What are your five most recent book purchases?
Ohh…man, I don’t think I’ve purchased any in awhile. Lately I’ve been receiving a bunch to review which has stacked up my reading list even more (what a great problem right??) 🙂 I’ve also been using my lending library for ebooks and audiobooks. I think the last 5+ books have been Nancy Drew and Babysitter Club books. lol
3) Have you ever named/nicknamed anything (person, pet or thing) after a character? Who and why?
No.
4) If you could live in one book, all of its characters and in the town, which would it be?
I want to live in the Savannah Blues/Savannah Breeze books by Mary Kay Andrews in Savannah, Georgia.
5) Can you think of a book you read that taught you something concrete that you’ve never forgotten? Tell us about it.
I don’t often read self-help books or read books to look for life lessons. I read to get whisked away by the story. Nothing more. Nothing less. But more often than not, I take away that life is too short and that you should live life to the fullest. No matter what. And do so every.single.day.
How would you answer #4 or #5?
Even better…grab the questions, grab our button, link up your post so I can all of your answers!!

I have been trying to find Nancy Drew in ebooks because I would really love to read them all again, but my library doesn’t have them and I’m not willing to purchase them, so the search continues!
Kelli says
I’ve read Savannah Breeze but not Savannah Blues, I don’t know how this is possible and I’m a little upset about it now that I know. I must fix this situation soon!
