I first started using Essential Oils about a year ago after hearing some of my blog friends’ experiences. I decided I needed to give them a try to see if I could possibly gain any benefits from them. I know there are no promises made my essential oil manufacturers. There are all sorts of disclaimers made in conjunction with essential oils, but speaking from experience, I’ve received lots of benefits from using essential oils. So I’m going to share about Essential Oils from time to time so that you have a resource and can learn about them too.
First let’s talk about essential oils in general. They’ve been around for thousands of years. They are not a new occurrence. They’ve been used in the beauty, spiritual and emotional realms. Essential oils can be diffused, inhaled, applied topically, incorporated into massage, or taken internally.
Lavender oil is one of the most diverse oils around, in my opinion. I use it for so many things like in my relaxation routine (it smells so good!), relief for mosquito bites and burns (skin irritations) and in my beauty routine.
Ways to incorporate Lavender Oil:
Add 8-12 drops into a water bottle and use it as a room refreshener
Add 2-4 drops to skin to moisturize
Diffuse at night for a calming aroma during sleep
Add a few drops into your beauty products
Create a spa-like retreat by combining 1 cup Epsom salt and 4 drops oil and adding to a hot bath.
Make a basic homemade body scrub with coconut oil, sugar, and Lavender essential oil.
Unwind with a Lavender-infused neck or back massage.
