Eekkkk…I’m so excited to share with you all this fun DIY Popcorn and Candy Bar Oscars Party. This party is super accessible and easy to recreate (I’m all about easy DIY/crafts!). Just head to your local World Market (they’ve got the perfect Entertaining Essentials!) for a few supplies (ummm..hello old school candy! lol), create yourself your popcorn/candy bar, make an impromptu photobooth area, grab your best buds/family members and enjoy the Oscars together! Best of all…I’ve got a super yummy cocktail that is JUST perfect for this occasion! I am a HUGE movie lover and cannot wait to see who takes home this year’s Oscars! I will be sipping on my cocktail, eating some candy and popcorn and glued to the TV to find out!! Speaking of movies…I’ve got a great sweepstakes to tell you about at the end of the post! So make sure you see that before you jet out!

Now it’s time to introduce you to the cocktail!!! This is a Hurricane Spritzer Cocktail. I grabbed the Pat O’Briens Hurricane Mix from World Market (y’all…seriously, they have a ton ofentertaining options in a one-stop shop!). I mixed it up as a non-alcoholic version in the pitcher and then offered up a shot of rum as kind of a side car to it. The milk bottles aren’t that big, so a full shot would be a lot (so fair warning!). Ultimately when making this drink, it should be 1:1 ratio of Mix to Rum.
Ingredients
1 bottle of Pat O’Briens Hurricane Cocktail Mix
3/4 2 Liter Bottle of Sprite
Amber/Gold Rum
Oranges Slices for Garnish
Directions
Mix the Pat O’Briens Hurricane Cocktail Mix and Sprite together in a Pitcher. Add ice right before serving. If you’d like to make it the alcoholic version, use a 1:1 ratio of Hurricane/Sprite to the Amber/Gold Rum. Garnish with a slice of orange.
Enjoy! And please drink responsibly!!
Now for some Photobooth fun!!
Prop ideas: Feather boa’s, funky sunglasses, mustache cut-outs, princess crowns
To create your own photo booth backdrop: take 2″ strips of fabric (start off with a yard of each fabric you want to use to be safe!) and some jute. Figure out how wide you want your backdrop to be and cut a piece of jute a little longer than that (so you have room to hang it). Tie on your 2″ strips of fabric in the colors of your choice, until your backdrop is full. And there you go!
