Back to School Time!!! I LOVED Back to School time. It meant new clothes, new school supplies and friends that I hadn’t seen for a few months. It meant a time of catching up and a new school year. Although the school work part was my least fav. ๐
I remember my first week or two at college. I was in a new state. I was in a big big school (well big compared to my high school). And I remember shopping for my dorm room and what I would need for the school year. For my high school graduation, my parents bought me an HP Desktop computer. Back in 1999, laptops weren’t all that common among my age set. And I still sported around my 1999 Nokia Flip Phone that probably weighed in at 10 lbs. ๐ Ahhhhh…those were the days. I remember also getting a beeper during college. Anyone have one of those?? Text messaging didn’t exist quite yet. If you needed someone quickly, you paged them.
If I were going back to school this year, I would totally be looking to add several of the devices, gadgets & apps to make my school year a breeze. Well, outside of the classroom that is. ๐
Devices:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4
Gadgets:
Targus Space Saving Lap Chill Mat for Laptop up to 17-Inch
My Passport External Hard Drive
Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 5510L
Sony W800/B 20 MP Digital Camera
Logitech Multimedia Speaker Z50 for Smartphone, Tablet and Laptop
Apps:
Evernote – Free…this app will help you stay organized and it syncs to all of your devices.
Evernote Peek – Free for iPad…turn your iPad into a flash card study session.
Dropbox – Free for Multiple Platforms…I use this now and it is so perfect! I can access files, pictures, movies, music from anywhere! I can move things around via my phone and my laptop. I can even send files to friends.
CliffsNotes – Free for iOS….yep…there is now a CliffsNotes app! And this app has it all!
Studious – Free for Android…this app helps you stay on top of your schedule. Have a test coming up? It will remind you (well as long as you give it that information when you learn you will be having a test…it’s not THAT good.) ๐
StudyBlue – Free for iOS and Android…another cool flashcard app!

Love all the tips!! Back in 1988 I was in a new state. New college. No cell phones and I had no computer. Since my oldest os now in college I think he’s pretty lucky to have these options. lol

My husband and I were just talking this morning about how we are the only generation who will know what it’s like with and without computers for schoolโฆ. Love this list, but isn’t it funny to think back to the days pen and paper were all that was on our “back to school” lists!?
