Do you find this time of year to start picking up speed like I do? As soon as October arrives, it’s like full steam ahead until New Years. First Halloween, then Thanksgiving, Christmas is up next and then New Years. It’s like wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am with holidays. And with holidays comes more time spent around people. Holiday parties, family get-togethers, themed photoshoots. My husband and I always try and get our pictures made around October/November to include with our Christmas cards that I send out in early December.
This is our holiday photo from a couple of years ago.
This time of year means I’m trying that much harder to take care of my skin heading into dryer, colder weather. In Texas, we have heat literally at least 8-9 months of the year. It’s the middle of October and we are still at 90 degree temps during the day. But the air has already started to change. Less humidity which means my skin starts needing more moisture boost. When my skin starts to dry out (not having enough moisture), it causes the wrinkles I do have (yes, I have wrinkles) to me more prominent. I don’t know if this is fact but it’s what I see. I try and combat that by adding in more moisture products at night to help give my skin an added boost. One of the products I’m now including is the RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. I love that this product includes retinol which helps my skin fight against the whole aging process. Who want’s to look wrinkly at 34?? (or insert your age here). Retinol is the #1 anti-aging ingredient recommended by dermatologists.
Here are some other tips for getting holiday photo ready besides upping your night-time beauty routine by incorporating moisturizing products such as the RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream:
TIP 2: Drink lots of water through-out your day. Keep your body hydrated…so so so important!
TIP 3: Use a humidifier at night. Help combat the dry air by surging it with moisture.
TIP 4: Take your makeup off every.single.night. No excuses on this one.
TIP 5: Avoid hot showers in the winter time. (Yes…this one is hard for me to even follow! lol) Hot showers can dry out your skin.
TIP 6: Keep exfoliating, just not as often. If you typically exfoliate twice a week, drop down to once a week. Our skin can become more sensitive in the colder months.
These 6 tips should help you become holiday photo ready!
