Recently, I had the opportunity to drive a 2015 Lexus GX460 for the week. My previous SUV driving experience has pretty much been limited to Chevy Tahoes, Trailblazers, Envoys and Suburbans. So it was a real treat to have the opportunity to test out the Lexus GX460. The GX460 is the mid-level SUV. There’s a smaller SUV under it and a larger one above it.

Here is what I loved about the vehicle:
*Heated steering wheel
*Heated and Cooled Front and 2nd Row Seats
*Amazing sound system
*4×4
*Lots of room in Front and 2nd Row
*Sunroof/Moonroof
Here is what I didn’t love all that much about the vehicle:
*Because I travel a lot for work, I spend a lot of time in my vehicle. The comfort level for extended travel could have been better. I started to ache in my lower back after being in the vehicle for extended periods of time.
*MPG…gahhh a combined total of 17MPG meant I was gassing up a lot…and with premium gas too!
*Lacked a bit more storage room with the 3rd row folded down.
Overall, I would definitely consider purchasing this model if I were in the market for an SUV. It’s priced comparably to the Chevy Tahoes and are about the same size. And the features definitely are a lot cooler than the Chevy Tahoe. My bet is that the maintenance program is probably more desirable as well.
Are you in the market for an SUV? Would you consider purchasing the Lexus GX460?
