Y’all….it’s almost SUMMERTIME!!! And with summertime comes BBQs, get-togethers, cook-outs and more. I spend a ton of time outside around our grill this time of year and it just makes me oh.so.happy. BBQ chicken, pizza, steaks, hamburgers….my mouth is watering just thinking about all the yummy goodness. With all that yummy food, it’s imperative to have a some tasty cocktails ready to go. And what’s not more ready to go than a pitcher of sangria. Today, I’m sharing a Summer Sangria with peaches, strawberries and watermelon. It’s a pile it all into the pitcher, let it sit overnight in the fridge kind of easy!
Ingredients
10 strawberries, quartered
4 peaches, seed removed, chopped
1/2 lemon, juiced
2 cups watermelon, cubed
1 bottle Sterling Vineyards Chardonnay
1 liter club soda
1/2 peach-infused vodka (instructions below)
1/2 cup peach-infused simple syrup (recipe below)
Directions
In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water with 1 sliced up peach. Bring to a low boil to dissolve sugar. Let steep on simmer for 15 minutes once sugar has dissolved. Let cool
While the peach-infused simple syrup is steeping, pour 1/2 cup of vodka in a small bowl and combine one whole peach (sliced). Place in the fridge while the syrup is steeping/cooling.
Cut up the remaining fruit and place in a pitcher. Add in the lemon juice. Add in the wine. Add in the club soda. Once the simple syrup has cooled (with the peaches still remaining), add it and the peach-infused vodka (with the vodka-soaked peaches) into the pitcher. Place in the fridge for at least 2 hours up until overnight.
Enjoy!!
**Always drink responsibly!!
