How do you celebrate morning wins? Let me tell you…when I have a #morningwin, I shout it from the rooftops. I’ve never been a morning person. I despise having to wake up to an alarm (who doesn’t??). If I had it my way, I’d wake up when my body was ready to get up. Right now, I don’t have it my way and I actually have to be in an office working by a certain time every morning. Boo to that! Ha!
Let’s get back to celebrating a #morningwin….
Here’s a typical morning for you in my world:
6:00 am: Alarm starts going off. Immediately start to hit the snooze button. (At this point, I’m not even aware that I’m hitting the snooze button. Complete habit.)
6:09 am: Alarm stops snoozing. Hit the button again.
6:18 am – 6:56 am: Continue to hit the Snooze Button.
7:05 am: Turn on my lights, turn off my fans. Check my email. And Facebook. And Instagram.
7:35 am: Realize I’m running behind and get my rear in gear and hit the shower.
8:11 am: Grab my stuff, grab some breakfast and hit the road.
9:00 am: Arrive at the office.
And repeat the next day.
You can see that basically I cheat myself out of a #morningwin nearly every single day. But there is hope for me! I’ve been trying super hard to get myself up in the morning by 6:30 am. It allows me to get to the office around 8:15 am which is a HUGE #morningwin. Getting up a few minutes earlier also allows me to grab some much needed breakfast. (Usually I’m in such a hurry that I end up making bad choices at a gas station.) I try for smoothies in the morning because I can prep them the night before and just toss everything into a blender real quick before I head out the door. I’m all about simple, easy and quick. I make sure to add some staying power to my smoothies too (ie complex carbs like whole grains or oatmeal and protein) because I need it to get me through to lunchtime.
One of my favorite smoothie combos is chocolate and banana. I add in some protein with the greek yogurt and some complex carbs with the belVita Bites Breakfast Biscuits. Check out my Chocolate & Banana Smoothie Recipe below. This smoothie will for sure hit the spot!
Ingredients
2 Bananas
1 Bag of belVita Chocolate breakfast biscuits
1 – 8oz cup of Plain Greek Yogurt
1.5 cups of Chocolate Almond Milk or Soy Milk
1 cup of Ice
Directions
Combine all in a blender and blend. Then enjoy!
**NOTE: if you don’t have belVita breakfast biscuits on hand, some oats will work in a pinch! 1/8 – 1/4 of a cup depending on how thick you want it.
Have you tried belVita breakfast biscuits? They are so yummy! And an easy breakfast snack perfect to grab and go when you’re running behind and you still want that #morningwin! Just pair it up with some fruit and a hard-boiled egg or yogurt and you’ll be good to go!

I love the energy the belVita gives me. I also guarantee myself not to ever go without breakfast again!
I make smoothies ahead of time and freeze them for breakfasts on the go or for post work out food. Chocolate and banana is a particular favorite of my peeps. 😉 Your morning routine is hilarious. 🙂
I’ve never tried those bite things before. Maybe I should pick some up because I am always sooo hungry in the mornings and don’t like to cook! I do like smoothies though but sometimes I don’t want to mess with making one!
