This quick cleaning tips post is written in partnership with O-Cedar. All stories & opinions are 100% my own.
Recently I hosted a gathering with some of my wedding vendor friends to share with them the O-Cedar EasyWring Spin Mop & Bucket System. We were already coming together for a group branding session with some of our favorite photogs – total #bossgirl time! And I thought why not host the gathering at the same time because these are my people and I know they are just as busy as I am. We are all constantly hustling in our businesses and each one of us classifies herself as a girl on the go. Before I share my 5 quick cleaning tips, I have to share a quick story with you.
Being in the wedding and event industry, I’m constantly worried about making sure I clean up after myself once I finish making a delivery or finish a design install. I never want to hear someone complain or make a comment that I made a mess and did not clean it up. I try and stay as professional as I can because I want people to take me seriously. I know my fellow wedding vendor friends can relate. We each offer something different to our clients: stationary design, cake design, floral design, photography, hair & makeup, wedding planning & design, furniture & decor rentals and event design. We all take part in an event at some point in the event day and none of us want to leave a mess for someone else to clean up. I always make sure I have trashbags, mop and broom with me in case I don’t have access to those items at the venue (never assume!!).
So this collaboration with O-Cedar really made sense for me. Talking about my quick cleaning tips, showing off this really cool mop (that is super affordable!) and getting in some quality #bossgirl time. So let’s get into my quick cleaning tips before I tell you all about this amazing mop & I share some behind-the-scenes of my hangout/branding sesh with my friendors.
5 QUICK CLEANING TIPS FOR THE GIRL ON THE GO
TIP #1: Always put things away the moment it needs to be put away.
I can be really lazy about this sometimes, but I try really hard (partly because my hubs is OCD about things being put in their place) to put my stuff back where it belongs the moment I come home. Shoes back in their shoe box or in the shoe shelf, purse somewhere out of the way, groceries up, luggage unpacked and items put away after traveling, etc etc etc. I promise this one small thing (even though it can be a “big” thing in the moment if you are lazy) will be life changing when it comes to cleaning.
TIP #2: Clean your bath tub/shower when you are showering (not taking a bath!).
Now this only works if you are using chemical-free cleaning products. I do not suggest you clean your bath tub or shower with harmful chemicals while showering. That just sounds like it could be all kinds of wrong. I don’t clean my bath tub with harmful chemicals. I’m a little woo-woo like that. 😉 So this tip totally works for me. And I kill 2 birds with one stone.
TIP #3: Run your vacuum and then mop on the days you change your sheets.
I love fresh clean sheets. And part of my “change the sheets” routine is to vacuum right after I change my sheets. I go one step further and do a quick vacuum on my tile in the rest of my house since I already have it out. And then I mop. At the end of that, I feel like my house has come back to center and all is right in my world again. Fresh sheets – clean floors. The rest can wait till another day. 😉
TIP #4: Skip folding your clothes.
Gaspppppp…am I really alluding to something crazy?? Like wearing wrinkly clothes. NOPE! Hang as many of your clothes as possible instead of folding. And only fold the items necessary. Take your newly hung clothes (as soon as the come out of the dryer!) and get them into your closet. Makes life so much easier!!
TIP #5: Make your bed.
This isn’t really a quick cleaning tip, but it sort of is. You will feel as if you accomplished something major just by making your bed the moment you get out of it. Talk about mindset shift. #boom
After announcing I was having a “mop” party when I arrived at the studio where we were all meeting for our branding photo sesh, my good friend Alex immediately said “OMG I have that mop and I love it!!” Talk about early influence on the rest of my friends!! I was so excited to hear that someone else already had experience with this O-Cedar EasyWring Spin Mop & Bucket System! After I demonstrated, Alex was eager to show us too!
You can purchase this super affordable mop system (under $40) from Walmart! And the best thing is, you don’t have to purchase special soap. Use your favorite floor cleaner (either store-bought or handmade) and get to cleaning! So I keep saying how cool this mop is…y’all. It’s like a salad spinner for your mop. I’ve never liked old school mops that you had to wring yourself or the kind that you stuck in the squish-contraption and pray you had enough strength to get all the excess water out or pray you didn’t tump the bucket of water out. The foot pedal controls the basket and once you dip your mop in the water, you then put it in the basket and use the foot pedal to get the basket spinning…making it a salad spinner for you mop. When you are finished mopping, detach the mop head and drop it in your washing machine. Couldn’t be more simpler than that!!
What are some of your quick cleaning tips??

Your tips are so true. If you take it out, put it back. I also really like the tidbit about making your bed. Its like it clears the brain fog first thing in the morning

Loved tip# 3! Why I never thought about it? Makes perfect sense! Love the mop party!
During the summer and in the early spring /early fall take advantage of good weather and plenty of sunshine to hang the sheets outside..I never get enough of the scent of sheets that were dried in the sun!
