Y’all…I’m starting my 6th week of Crossfit. And I can’t tell you how proud of myself that I have made it this far. Crossfit is no joke. It’s tough stuff. BUT with that said, it is for anyone that wants to get their “beast” on…I’m not even kidding. It’s so empowering to me. After each workout (aka WOD), I feel like I’ve climbed a mountain. And in a “I want to shout from the mountain tops so you’ll know!” way. Yes, I want to pass out or throw up or whatever it is I’m feeling right afterwards, but once that initial feeling has passed…I want to tell EVERYONE! If you have the opportunity, I would highly recommend it! You will see me talking more and more about it. Girls…do not be scared. My Crossfit Box has a sign at the door before you enter the gym that says “Check your EGO at the Door”. This is so motivational to me because I know on the other side, everyone is there to get a fabulous workout on.
I think Crossfit actually fits perfectly into my #NOEXCUSES™ Fitness series. If you hop on their website, you’ll see the Workout of the Day (WOD). You can do this at home and do not necessarily have to go to a gym. At the end of the day…#NOEXCUSES™ Just get your workout on. And with that said, make sure you have these items in your Gym Bag because they make the perfect Gym Bag Essentials no matter where you are working out!!
ONE: Blender Bottle…perfect for your post-workout shake!
TWO: Water Bottle…a must, must, must, must!!!
THREE: Smart Phone Arm Band…perfect for those cardio moments!!!
FOUR: Ear Buds…don’t leave home without them!
FIVE: Tank Top…if you are like me, when I workout, the sweat just starts pouring. Even in the colder months! Gotta have a tank!
SIX: Hat…especially if you are spending your workout time outdoors. Protect your face from the sun!
SEVEN: Cosmetic Bag…so you have some stuff to refresh yourself with after your workout!
EIGHT: Half-Zip Jacket…perfect for those cooler days!
NINE: Dry Shampoo…because if you have to go anywhere, you need some of this stuff in your bag! A quick pick-me-up for your hair!
TEN: Facial Cleansing Towelettes….another must-have in your bag! Get that sweat off your face with these if you don’t have time to grab a shower!
ELEVEN: Hand Towel…because sometimes it’s hard to trust the ones at the gym. 😉
TWELVE: Yoga Mat & Block…I take my own Yoga mat and block when I’m heading to a Yoga Class, so these things stay in my car (not necessarily my gym bag per se).
THIRTEEN: Workout gloves…if you lift weights, these are a must to save your hands!!
FOURTEEN: Gym Shoes (aka Athletic Shoes)…SUPER IMPORTANT to have a good pair of shoes!!
FIFTEEN: Hoodie...lately it’s been a bit cold around my neck of the woods and my workouts have been mostly in a cold warehouse and outside. So my hoodie is being put to good use!
SIXTEEN: Running Shorts…for those warmer workouts!
SEVENTEEN: Sports Bra…this is a MUST…a really good Sports Bra! Enough said.
EIGHTEEN: Capri Leggings…I prefer some sort of a legging to workout in rather than a non-fitted option just because of how much moving I’m doing. These capri leggings are a great option for that!
NINETEEN: Headbands…I keep these by the dozen in my bag!! I cannot stand my hair getting in my face when I’m working out!
