This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Soffe. All opinions are 100% mine.
I’m on my 10th week of Crossfit. What?!? I am just as shocked as you are. Well, okay, maybe you are not shocked. Here’s a little secret about me: even though I’m a Certified Personal Trainer, I still suck at working out consistently on my own. I’m human. And in the past, I had some pretty decent excuses. Okay, okay…maybe not decent. They were plain, old excuses. Anyways…my girl, Lauren, has been CrossFitting (is that a word…I’m making it one) for over 2 years now. And she looks like a crossfitting boss y’all. I remember when we first met, ahem…2 years ago, she was talking about joining. And she did. And she looks amazeballs. And she even Crossfitted (another word I’m making up) during her pregnancy (<---like a boss).
So, I finally decided because of all of her inspiration, that I would give it a go. And y’all…I was sold. Am sold. So, let me tell you my 5 Reasons Why I Crossfit.
ONE: It’s never the same workout. We warm-up. We work on a skill or a lift (more on that in a bit). And then we finish it off with the WOD (Workout of the Day). The skill could be working on the movements associated with the lifts. The lift could be squats, deadlifts, power cleans, etc. It’s all olympic-style lifting. And old-school plyometrics. And I love it.
TWO: You check your ego at the door. I love this theory. My gym has it posted on the door. In theory, it’s powerful. When you get to experience in person, it’s even more powerful. More Crossfit gyms and coaches need to embody this on a regular basis. It’s what allows the newbies to feel like they are a part of something amazing.
THREE: The body composition changes! Ohhhh…y’all. I preach lifting weights as part of any workout routine, including a weight loss routine. Crossfit has completely changed my body for the good in 10 weeks. I’m a walking billboard for strength training now. 😉
FOUR: Strength gains. When I first started, I was a mere weakling. 10 weeks later the amount of strength I’ve gained is breath-taking. Truly. I feel like such a beast when I leave. And I’ve still got a long ways to go in my fitness journey. Will I bulk up? No. My body is not equipped with those kind of muscle fibers. Will I gain muscle? You better believe it. Will I look like a crazy fitness competitor? Ummmm…that is not my goal. I’m sure you could, but…nah…I’ll be good for some muscle definition and maybe a six-pack of abs. But the fitness competition gals can keep that to themselves. Power to them. It’s just not for me.
FIVE: I’m in the best shape of my life. And that’s the best reason I can say as to why I Crossfit. Do I struggle through the workouts? Heck yes. Are they hard? Absolutely! Do I want to throw-up afterwards? Sometimes, yes (and that’s a super unreal feeling as I have never experienced pushing myself that hard in a workout before…lol). Bonus: I get to wear some pretty colorful workout gear when I’m working out. Who wouldn’t want to show off some bright fun colors to help push you through a hard workout?? I’ll take anything that motivates me to be a stronger version of myself. #TheStrengthIsInUs
The gear I’ve got on in the pictures is Soffe. Y’all know the brand?? Me and Soffe go way back to Junior High Drill Team. They were our unofficial practice shorts. I still own my Junior High Drill Team practice shorts. 😉
What I’m loving about Soffe now as an adult, is that I can still wear their clothes. They aren’t just for girls. They are trendy, have high quality, great fit and super affordable. Have you checked workout leggings and workout capri prices lately?? Wooooo…if I can have lots of fun options to choose from at a cheaper price point that doesn’t sacrifice quality/fit, then I’m all about that!
So those are my 5 Reasons Why I Crossfit. It’s not just for guys. Plenty of women are Crossfitting every single day. It’s pretty amazing y’all. Was I intimidated to get started? Yes! But I’m intimidated any time I set foot into a new gym…and again, I’m a Personal Trainer. I’ve been in and out of gyms since high school. If you have questions or want to know more about Crossfit, email me at pinkheelspinktruck@gmail.com. I would love to give you some tips, motivation or whatever it is that you need!

Soffe reminds me of junior high/high school too. Mostly the cotton shorts that came in a million colors. They always have had a great price point.
I love CF too. I did it throughout pregnancy and it made me strong while I was getting bigger. 😉

I should give weight lifting a try. I’ve never done it before, but I know it’s so good for my muscles, my bones, and my overall health.
