I created this DIY Travel Kit post as part of a sponsored series with Socialstars and Zicam®. All opinions are my own. #ZicamCrowd
How often, when you travel, have you been in a situation where you needed something and didn’t have it? That used to happen to me until I created my own DIY Travel Kit. Packed full of the items I might need in one of those uh-oh situations. I can remember on a previous trip to Disney, feeling like I was coming down with something. That is the worst. Luckily, my dad was flying in the next day, so I asked him to pick up some supplies for me because I had no way to get them. But what happens when I don’t have someone conveniently coming in from somewhere else to meet me when I travel? My DIY Travel Kit to the rescue.
Making your own DIY Travel Kit is super easy! To make mine, I used an empty makeup wipe remover container and covered the lid with Washi Tape. But you could use a small toiletry bag or a small pencil case.
Here’s what you might want to include:
Cotton Swabs
Elastic Hair Bands
Bobby Pins
Tissues
Chapstick
Lip gloss
Lipstick
Mascara
Tampon
Zicam® products
Vitamins
Pain Relievers
Eye drops
Essential Oil
Lotion
Contact Lens Holder
Travel Toothbrush
Travel Toothpaste
True story: I mentioned above feeling like I was coming down with something on a past Disney trip. Y’all it was miserable. And knowing I left my normal “keep-myself-germ-free” stuff at home was terrible. But, my dad and step-mom happened to be coming in on their Disney trip the day before we were scheduled to fly back home, so I requested my usual kick the ish out of this icky stuff which included the Zicam® Cold Remedy ULTRA Berry Lemonade Crystals. 2 bus transfers at 11pm at night to meet up with my dad to get the stuff and then a “pretty-please-take-us-back-to-our-resort” to the last bus driver on duty and I was finally going to survive the ick. But had I had my Travel Kit, I would’ve been able to kick the ick immediately. So now, I’m not leaving home without my DIY Travel Kit. And neither should you!
Zicam® products are a homeopathic cold shortening remedy (found in your food, drug and mass merchandise retailers) and can help shorten the duration of a cold when taken immediately at the first signs of said cold. It’s an affordable product and should definitely be one of the items in your DIY Travel Kit. You never know when you might encounter icky germs.
I was excited to discover the newest addition to the Zicam® lineup: Zicam® Cold Remedy ULTRA Berry Lemonade Crystals which is a refreshing Berry Lemonade flavored powder that can be taken on the go without liquid.
Don’t let a cold stop you from enjoying your travels for longer than necessary: get your better back™ faster. Create your own DIY Travel kit and make sure Zicam® is included!

(Where I Party)
Being sick on a vacation is no bueno! I don’t think I’ve ever tried Zicam before, but the next time I’m starting to feel sick (which hopefully won’t be for a long time) I’ll have to give it a try! Love all of your essentials, especially the Pixi lip balm, that stuff is so moisturizing!
Great tips and excellent pictures!
After one particularly awful family vacation that landed us in the ER with a sick child we never pack for vacation without a thermometer, Motrin and Tylenol (the correct type for everyone in our travel party) and some assorted cough and cold meds. as well as the usual toiletry supplies we’d need.
I would add loperamide (for diarrhea), band aids, topical antibiotic ointment and hand sanitizer.
Handy to have on hand. Thanks for joining us at the Inspiration Spotlight party. Shared.

It’s always a good idea to have a handy travel kit. Thanks for sharing yours on Merry Monday.
I usually try to pack for emergencies but always miss something.(s):) I’m quite sure this will keep me out of trouble.
