My hair is at a definite point of needing to be trimmed. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a hairdresser and my ends are showing it! I spotted my first ever (to be seen by my eyes) split end the other day and about freaked out. I know it’s got to be normal if you don’t take care of your hair or whatever other reasons there might be. But I’d never in my life seen an actual split end. Talk about wild. LOL Anyways, I started hunting for a natural diy split end treatment that would not necessarily “fix” my split ends but help to nourish my hair until I can get a hair appointment. I had coconut oil on hand and knew that there are a lot of really great benefits to using coconut oil on your hair. So here’s the 2-ingredient DIY Split End Remedy:
Ingredients
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
1 Teaspoon Vitamin E Oil
Directions
Combine the ingredients in a small microwave safe bowl. Heat for about 20-30 seconds (if your coconut oil is in a solid state). Mix well. Apply to the ends of your hair and let sit for a few hours, up to overnight.
I dunked the ends of my hair in my bowl and then worked it into my hair. I probably went up about 6 inches to catch my layers. Then I put my hair up and slept with the mixture on my hair overnight. I showered as usual.
I was impressed after just one treatment! It mended my split ends! I think this would be good for anyone that has dry ends, too.
