Bobby pins are the key to many hairstyles; however, they are generally pretty ugly and you try to hide them as much as possible. However, with a few beads and some fishing wire, bobby pins can become something to show off and add the perfect finishing touch.
DIY Jeweled Bobby Pins
Materials:
- Bobby Pins
- Beads – ones with smaller holes work better
- Fishing Wire
- Scissors
First, cut a piece of fishing wire about 8 inches long. Not all of it will be used; however, it is a lot easier to work with longer pieces.
Center the bead along the fishing wire then loop the ends through the end of the bobby pin.
Tie the fishing wire in a knot (double or triple knot it just to be safe) then clip the ends. Make sure the knot is nice and tight – fishing wire does have a bit of stretch to it.
These bobby pins are perfect to use for finishing off a bun or up-do. There are endless possibilities of beads that could be added which means that they can be personalized for any event or outfit.
Can you think of an occasion where you could wear these?
