This post is written in partnership with She Speaks/Aveda. My opinions are always 100% my own.
This was my first experience with Aveda Haircare Products. I was intrigued by the claim of Naturally Straight hair and I know if you know me you’re thinking, isn’t your hair already straight?? Why yes…yes it is. HOWEVER…my hair is extremely frizzy. Any humidity whatsoever in the air (even the bathroom after a shower) and my hair does some funky funky things. And it’s really not pretty. Like I wish it would kink up or something beachy but no….none of the above. It just does it’s own thing.
So let me tell you about Aveda’s Naturally Straight Haircare Products. Specifically I tried out:
ONE | Aveda Smooth Infusion Shampoo
TWO | Aveda Smooth Infusion Conditioner
THREE | Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother
FOUR | Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight
Now…to get the Naturally Straight to keep my hair naturally straight, I needed to use it 5 consecutive times and it would keep my hair straight through 3 washes. Again…my hair is already “straight” but with frizzzzzzzz. I guess you could almost say wavy but as I mentioned above, it’s not pretty. Don’t make me get out my junior high yearbook pictures. What was I thinking?!? ha!
So I followed the instructions and definitely found my hair to be a TON smoother. After letting it air dry a few times, the frizz was kept in check. And after blow-drying it, the frizz was kept in check. By the end of the day though (again especially if there was humidity in the air), I’d notice the frizz starting to become un-tamed. I’m curious to see how continued use will help encourage my hair to tame itself for longer periods of time.
One thing I will note is the smell of the shampoo and conditioner. I’m not a huge fan. It’s not horrible (smells kind of like grapefruit) but it’s really not my cup of tea. It kind of has a chemical smell to it (but not like perm or hair color smell). Kind of hard to describe but it’s just a tad off-putting to me. The good thing is, it appears to be doing what it’s claiming to do. ie. get my hair Naturally Straight. So I’m going to continue using it to see how much more progress I can make with it.
NOTE: I did not change my hair color (although I’m really needing a new color!!) The After pics were taken in my bathroom at my condo and the Before pics were taken in my bathroom at home. Two totally different rooms and lighting.

Your hair looks great! I love Aveda. I used to get their color care shampoo and conditioner and my hair honestly responds so much better to it. It’s great! I love their styling products too.

Hi Taylor, does it work even without blow drying?
