Being a Bacon Ambassador for Petit Jean Meats has many perks. And by many perks, I mean payment in the form of bacon. 😉 It wasn’t hard to come up with another recipe featuring bacon. The moment I started thinking about another Bacon-Infused Cocktail, I immediately started thinking about one of my closest friends’ favorite cocktails…the Old Fashioned. (Shout-out to you Lynsie!). To make it bacon-y, I infused the Bourbon with Bacon, created an Orange-Brown Sugar Simple Syrup and combined it all together!! Meet the Bacon-Infused Old Fashioned Cocktail!
I contribute my success as a blogger, by and largely, to my relationship with this company. I will never forget the moment, as a newbie blogger, I discovered brands wanted to work with bloggers. It was at my very first blog conference (Bloggy Bootcamp hosted by the SITS Girls) and on a break in between sessions, I ventured out into the hallway to see who the sponsors were (I didn’t know there was such a thing at the time – so this concept was new to me!) and out in the hallway was this brand that I recognized immediately: Petit Jean Meats. I recognized them because I grew up eating their products. I recognized them because they were a staple in my home. I recognized them because we share the same home roots – Arkansas. I immediately rushed up to their table and introduced myself and my love for their products and the fact that it was so incredibly amazing to see my home-state brand being represented at a blogging conference. This was a match made in heaven for me. And an ambassador relationship that I have maintained ever since October 2011. When I get called upon to create food or drinks for Petit Jean Meats, I immediately take action. I am forever grateful to the connections that came from this hallway moment. And so today, I’m sharing my latest creation with you that is featured on the PJ Eats blog. This Bacon-Infused Old Fashioned Cocktail is for sure one not to miss! A bacon ambassador sounds absolutely genius! A food critic once said “bacon is natures perfect food” and I couldn’t agree more. An absolute improvement on an Old Fashion and it looks amazing!
Thank you for sharing at Fiesta Friday! 🙂
