I’ve been playing around with this B.L.T. cocktail idea for awhile. I decided to go the route of the Bloody Mary because basically the Tomato component of the B.L.T. is the star. To bring in the B and the L, I used some of my homemade Bacon Vodka and added some Romaine as the garnish. The Creamy Horseradish gives this drink a definite bite to it. I could also see this being served with Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp. OMG…that would be delish! (I didn’t have shrimp and didn’t think of the bacon-wrapped shrimp until just NOW! haha!) On to the Bacon Bloody Mary…
2 oz. Homemade Bacon Vodka
4 oz. Bloody Mary Mix (recipe below)
Combine in a cocktail shaker and serve over ice. Garnish with crispy bacon and 1 romaine lettuce leaf.
Bloody Mary Mix:
2 cans Tomato Juice (about 24 ounces)
1 lemon, juiced
2 limes, juiced
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tablespoon Creamy Horseradish
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon celery salt
3/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
Combine all of the ingredients and chill for at least 2 hours, covered.
