I will never forget my first mole check. I was in college. And it was the first time for me to see a dermatologist. Unfortunately, for me, I inherited moles from both sides of my family. So the discovery of this particular mole that just looked off sent a bit of anxiety through my body. I’m not good with seeing doctors. Never have been. I mean, do you enjoy seeing doctors?? I’m guessing that’s a no, too. 😉 So here I am, scheduling an appointment to see a dermatologist to check out this funny mole. And turns out, that funny mole needed to be removed. And then I received a stern talking to about the importance of SPF. Since I already am susceptible to moles, I have to be even more careful with my skin and the sun. And that’s the day that I started wearing SPF daily.
It’s a rarity for me to go out in the sun (or outside in general) without some sort of SPF coverage, especially on my face & chest. So, I appreciate when my daily lotions and moisturizers contain SPF. It makes getting ready that much easier. And for girls on the go, this is a necessity! I typically wait to the very last minute to get ready (I’d rather be sleeping if this is a morning get-ready-sesh) and don’t want to have to use several different types of lotions/moisturizers to get all the things I really want in a lotion/moisturizer. So I say YES! to those lotions and moisturizers that conveniently contain SPF.
Mole removal has been a constant in my world ever since that first check back in college. I just had 11 removed over the course of the last 3 months if that tells you anything. And thankfully, I’ve kept up my end of the bargain with using SPF. I can’t stop my DNA doing it’s thing, but I can do everything in my power to protect my skin.
If my story about taking care of my skin hasn’t convinced you to wear SPF every day, then let these 4 reasons to wear SPF guide you:
ONE. SPF helps shield you from harmful UV rays.
TWO. SPF helps prevent premature aging.
THREE. SPF lowers your skin cancer risk.
FOUR. SPF prevents sunburns.
I know we all want that summer glow. But trust me when I say, that summer glow isn’t all that glamorous in 10 years or 20 years or 30 years (you get my drift?). Have you seen a woman’s body that hasn’t used SPF to protect her skin? Yeah…not what I want my skin to look like. I was shocked to hear that 1/3 of the female population actually wears SPF daily, even though 2/3rds of the female population knows they should wear it daily.
Recently, Olay sent me their Olay Regenerist Whip with SPF 25 to test drive. It’s touted as the “Unicorn of Moisturizers”. That’s a pretty powerful claim, right?! I think a lot of us want to claim unicorn status on at least one thing in life. 😉 I’d like to be the Unicorn of Event Stylists or Unicorn of Podcasters. 😉
Since I am already a huge fan of the Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream, I figured this would be a new go-to in my daily skincare routine. And it hasn’t disappointed me. The Olay Regenerist Whip with SPF 25 is similar in consistency to the Olay Micro Sculpting Cream (with all the same benefits!) and has a clean smell to it (with light floral notes). It is also whipped which makes it feel light and airy (and not sticky or something I can’t put makeup over).
Here’s some more things to know about Olay Regenerist Whip with SPF 25:
1. Unlike other sunscreens, Whips with SPF has Active Rush Technology, which holds and releases 1000x it’s weight in hydration, instantly absorbing into the skin, so it feels light and moisturizing. You almost won’t believe it has SPF in it!
2. It blends with all skin tones, leaving no oily or sticky residue.
Yep – Unicorn of Moisturizers alright. Grab a jar of Olay Regenerist Whip with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 25 (PURCHASE ONLINE HERE!) so you can start taking really good care of your skin ASAP!
